Companies such as ibibo have been trying to promote blogs on net by paying them a good amount. Other companies such as Sulekha, Rediff and Indiatimes have been trying to lure visitors to make blogs and write whatever they want. Has this proved any success? Are these blogs providing some real information or a waste of time?
Ibibo later found that the content made by user is lacking in quality, so they added a condition that money would be given based on blog quality.

The murder of 16 year old Adnan Patrawala of Mumbai, who was allegedly abducted and killed by his friends, has brought to the force the potential dangers of the social networking sites.
Adnan was reportedly lured into meeting someone he established contact with on the social networking site Orkut. The boy then disappeared only to be found subsequently strangulated to death.
The blogosphere is alive with debates around the destructive potential of sites like Orkut with one website even alleging that Orkut brought death for Adnan.
As per the police reports Internet related crimes had increased about 42% in last two years.
With a raging debate online and offline regarding social networking sites, the question which is on everybody’s minds is, are these networking sites destructive?
